Description
Description
Bluemax proof is a high performance, single component, elastomeric, Acrylic waterproof coating. It is used for waterproofing of roofs and for the protection of exposed concrete structures against chemical attacks like acids, chloride, sulphate etc. When curing, BLUEMAX proof provides a tough, flexible and durable coating, which is resistant to UV. It can be used on most surfaces like concrete, metal profile roofs, asbestos roofs etc.
Instruction For Use
All surfaces to be coated should be sound and thoroughly clean before Bluemax proof is applied. Remove all dust, dirt, rust, oil, grease and any loose particle, which will affect the adhesion of the coating to the substrate. Cracks and holes shall be repaired with Patch concrete repair mortar. Prepare a prime coat of Bluemax proof, by adding 20% water and apply as a primer on the concrete surface to seal the pores and stabilize the surface. Allow the primer coat to dry completely before the application. Bluemax proof can be applied by brush, roller and airless spray. Mix the contents of the drum before the application, approximately 5% water may be added. Apply the first coat at a thickness of 0.50 mm. It is important to ensure that each coat has to be cured before application of the next coat. Minimum three coat of Bluemax proof is recommended. For improved strength and durability, embed a 65 g/m2 non-woven geo-textile membrane immediately after the first coat is applied.
Advantages
- Life and durability of the structure are increased.
- Easy application, no machinery required.
- Lightweight compared to conventional roofing systems, thereby loading on the roofs is reduced.
- Provides seamless and joint free seal throughout the surface, which is impervious to water.
- Lower labour cost due to an easy, simple and quick application, leading to quick completion and time-saving.
- Provides insulation due to solar reflection.
- Excellent bonding to most building materials.
- It provides a protective membrane for polyurethane foam insulation.
Coverage
Coverage depends upon the nature of the surface to be applied. But on average, smooth surface will give first coat- 350gm/sq.mt & 300gm/sq.mt (second coat). Two coats will give 1mm dry film thickness. Total three coats recommended.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place and keep away from moister and direct sunlight.
Shelf Life: 12 months in unopened original packing, if stored properly.
